Radeon rx 580 linux performance4/10/2023 ![]() There is an option in Radeon profile to do it, and amdgpu-clocks does it automatically. You will also need to make sure your dpm power level is set to high or else your screen will absolutely glitch out constantly. You can't adjust voltage or clock speed without it. ![]() IMPORTANT: You will have to have the amdgpu.ppfeaturemask kernel parameter set for any of the programs anyone has mentioned to work. I also use Radeon profile for temp monitoring. ![]() I use radeon-profile to tweak until I'm stable, then use amdgpu-clocks for permanence. I'm undervolting my XFX GTS XXX OC+ RX 580, I don't care about fan noise, but my case has garbage airflow and has the GPU facing the very bottom of the case so I need to lower temps until I get a new chassis. 2: find the line 'grubcmdlinelinuxdefault' 3: along with the other options, add: amdgpu. If you want a good systemd service application, amdgpu-clocks is really good, that way your settings are always applied on boot and once you're stable you never have to worry about it again. 1: open /etc/default/grub with a text editor: sudo nano /etc/default/grub, or use vim/gedit/etc. The important difference is definitely clock speeds. WattmanGTK is cool, but for one, it doesn't actually apply any settings, it only makes a script for you to run so you can't easily change things on the fly and it makes fine tuning a nightmare, and for two, it doesn't have the functionality that radeon-profile has. Radeon-profile is by far the best for AMD.
